A few weeks ago, I uploaded a video of myself simply sitting on the back porch writing. Nothing special, really. Just a view of my table and notebook, aimed at the back yard, as I worked on my book. It was only 17 minutes and a few seconds long. No music playing, just the sounds of birds and my wind chime. I uploaded it to YouTube, shared it on my Facebook page, and thought nothing of it.
I never thought it would get over 300 views. I was completely shocked. I uploaded another of me typing everything I'd hand written that day. It, as well, has gotten far more views than I ever imagined it would get.
Now I wonder what other videos my readers might enjoy. I'd tried years ago to do bi-weekly vlogs talking about writing. It ranged from my books, to characters, even to how I keep notes and world build. Sadly, the videos didn't get nowhere near as much attraction as I would have hoped. I stopped doing them all together and ended up only posting the very rare update on progress and whatnot. So you can imagine my surprise at the views a simple 17 minute video of me writing on the back porch got. (If you'd like to poke at said video or any of my others, my here's a link to my YouTube: https://youtube.com/c/MelissaSasina )
The question I have today is: should I keep recording myself writing? Should I try doing bi-weekly videos again about writing and my books? I would like to know what you, the reader, thinks. So please, let me know if you'd like me to keep uploading videos and what you would like them to be. If you want me to talk writing, what would you like to know? I'd love to hear from you!
